I really enjoyed reading We’re Going to Find the Monster. It follows two boys who go on a quest to ‘find the monster.’ Even though they know the monster will be grumpy, hungry and snappy.
They travel over the shimmering ocean, up a huge mountain, through a deep dark jungle and a bubbling lake. Along the way, they meet a wolf and a tiger! But the scariest place is the monster’s lair! And what will happen when they meet the monster?
This story is a lovely read aloud book. Filled with funny and relatable characters. Children (and parents) will absolutely love it.
The illustrations are fun and colourful! Without a doubt, there and will bring a smile to the faces of children, as they spot the ‘tiger’ and the monster’s lair.
We’re Going to Find a Monster is a great story about the power of the imagination and provides plenty of chuckles along the way!
It is by Malorie Blackman and Dapo Adeola! Malorie Blackman, the former children’s laureate has written a wide range of books for young adults and children. For example, Noughts and Crosses and others such as Pig Heart Boy.
Dapo Adeola is an award winning illustrator, author and character designer who was recognised as the Illustrator of the Year at The British Book Awards in 2022.
So, it’s definitely one that you need to add to your bookshelf.
